On a lousy sunday morning, still lying on the bed, trying very hard to think and plan things for the rest of the day. It took me ten sweet minutes to realize that I don’t really have anything worth doing. So I finally decided to get out of the bed, take a quick shower, put on my pajamas and T shirt and go outside to pick up a pint of fresh milk and a daily tabloid .
I came across this interesting article in the tabloid which interprets something about a survey being done on consumption of wood comparing a couple of countries. It also showcased a few hard to understand graphs and statistical records about the heavy consumption of wood (Paper). Yepieee…. I have finally found an interesting topic to spend a few worthless Sunday hours of mine. Without wasting even a bit of time, I switched on my laptop and started googling. I found a hell lot of articles, surveys, editorials and journals penned down on consumption of paper. Well, all of these had one thing in common. “Deforestation and its after effects”, The solutions given were not much worth mentioning and were pretty annoying to me. Recycling procedures, cutting down on margin width in books, printing on both sides of the sheet????? These I reckon are just solutions for better utilization of paper and nothing more than that.

But suddenly, came an idea in my mind as a flash, which didn’t really excite me much initially though. I was thinking of an electronic device having a huge touch sensitive screen with all the happening features that a teenager or a gadget freak could think off, which could have been a possible unit to replace the use of paper. Exactly!!! Just like an I pad or any other tabloid pc’s. Later, I thought it’s not worth wasting time thinking of a device which already exists and has nothing to really help the present scenario of paper wastage. Anyway when I further researched about these tabloid pc’s and about how they could be possibly used, I found out that these devices are nothing but small computer like processors and are nothing but than just another expensive and luxurious fancy gadgets.
Eventually I started thinking of a device which might only look similar to these fantasies, but should be more simpler, highly purpose oriented, durable and cheaper so that it reaches out to the masses. This device is not a computer; it’s just a storage device with a specific application which runs on a software called ‘Handwriting Recognition’. The device will be used to write and record, similar to the way we use paper . The device will have a wide screen upon which a stylus can be used to write. These written documents can be saved and sorted into different files and can be recalled whenever necessary. The devices will have large memory space. Compatible with flash drives and external hard drives. It can also be connected to pc’s and laptops.
This device will not be expensive as they don’t have any fancy features like camera, video recording or any other multimedia applications, as this is just designed to replace the usage of paper.
